Hello all,
Dr. Richard Olenick, physics professor and professor of astronomy from the University of Dallas will be leading our astronomy teaching friday nite. He was going to come to our campout friday nite to show us the stars but things came up and so now we are going to meet him at the UD observatory where he has their 16″ telescope set up and thru which we will be observing the heavens. He will join us soon at an upcoming campout, but this time, we will go to his place.
I will need your feedback on you participation at the UD observatory as soon as I can so that we can have a good head count for Dr. Olenick. This is true even if you cannot make the campout but do wish to make the observatory event. Please let me know of your participation as soon as you can but no later than Tuesday nite, Feb 25 (yep, fat tuesday). You can sign up, providing a note in the relevant section when you purchase your campout, send me a text at 972 375-1934 or call me at the same number and let me know. Camp Fee is standard: $15/person, capped at $45 for 3 or more persons per family.

Consequently, Our Schedule is modified from Normal. Our new schedule for this camp only is:
Friday, Feb 28
Noon- Camp gates open for camp set up
6:00 pm- Travel to UD Observatory on the UD campus in Irving. Gate to camp will be locked during our absence, so things will be secure.
8:00pm- Dr. Olenick will show us the heavens including observing things thru the 16′ telescope. We will conclude the observations with the Rosary and head back to camp.
Saturday 2/29
6:00 Angelus
7:30- reveille
8:00- Raise the Colors and Morning Prayer
8:15- Breakfast
9:00 Morning hike to retrieve game camera photos
10:00 Skeet Shoot on the Dam
Noon; Angelus and Lunch
1:00 pm Fishing Tournament/2.5 mile perimeter hike
3:00 pm Divine Mercy Chaplet
5:00 pm Prepare Supper- Each person make their own bum suppers with supplied materials
6:00 pm Angelus and Lowering of the Colors.
6:30 pm Supper
7:30 pm Cobbler and Dutch Oven Desserts
8:00 pm Campfire
11:00 pm Lights out
